Serissa-Singing beautifully is more than a defining talent, its Serissa Moore’s destiny, but fame comes with a high price and a responsibility- a price that means questioning everything about life, and a responsibility no human is capable of.

Seventeen-year-old Serissa leaves home after graduation to follow around a new band with her friends. Only she already knows the lead singer, Gabe Livingston, who requests her to sing a duet. Scared of performing, and unsure about trusting the guy who once threw pebbles at her on the playground, she knows she should walk away. But in exchange for one song he promises to explain how she was the only one who saw him glowing during the first show of the tour, and why the polished stone he gifts her soon after transports her into a world she knows too well for having never visited.

Insistent on answers for accumulating odd events, Gabe explains her voice has an unique ability and her musical commitment involves her life, not one song. She also learns her recently acquired boyfriend isn’t who he says he is. Over the summer Serissa will have to overcome stage fright, elude her crazy soon-to-be ex, and hopefully, after figuring out where she is really from, have time to change everything about life as we know it.

Serissa’s Song- With the tour over and summer coming to an end, Serissa accepts her life will never be the same. She returns home with Gabe feeling as though everything around her is in perpetual change, from her mother beginning to date again, to Amber struggling with Rose’s departure. Before having a chance to become comfortable, Dayton and Colby present her with the shortened timeline she’s been given and answers to why it’s time to move forward in her mission. Her move from Kansas City to Chicago to meet with her production company deepens her relationship with Gabe, but only in time to meet with his own mother to learn he has sacrificed more than he realizes to be with her. She knows she has to record her album and do as she is told, but it’s hard when her only friend is on a downward spiral and her boyfriend’s future uncertain. But when Kyle reappears with another murder fresh on his hands, she is no longer willing to be forgiving. Without time on her side, she’ll commit a dose of her own magic in plain sight knowing her unconditional love will be the first of her messages, making her a musical force to be reckoned with.

There comes a time in life you have to let go of who you thought you were and become what you know you can be.

When the past and present collide…

05 - Waiting for Wren Cover reveal and PromotionalWren Cooke has everything she’s ever wanted—a thriving career as one of LA’s top interior designers and a home she loves. Business trips, mockups, and her demanding clientele keep her busy, almost too busy to notice Ethan Cooke Security’s gorgeous Close Protection Agent, Tucker Campbell.

Jaded by love and relationships in general, Wren wants nothing to do with the hazel-eyed stunner and his heart-stopping grins, but Tucker is always in her way. When Wren suddenly finds herself bombarded by a mysterious man’s unwanted affections, she’s forced to turn to Tucker for help.

As Wren’s case turns from disturbing to deadly, Tucker whisks her away to his mountain home in Utah. Haunted by memories and long-ago tragedies, Tucker soon realizes his past and Wren’s present are colliding. With a killer on the loose and time running out, Tucker must discover a madman’s motives before Wren becomes his next victim.

The Unofficial Waiting For Wren Soundtrack

As I have discussed with previous book launches, music plays a huge part in my writing process. I typically listen to Pandora or YouTube and compile a collection of songs that I feel represent my characters or the situations they face as the novel unfolds.  Here are a few of the songs that I had on “repeat” while I created Tucker and Wren’s story!

The soundtrack, of sorts, for Waiting For Wren:

  • Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips
  • Lego House by Ed Sheeran
  • Wanted by Hunter Hayes
  • What Would Happen If We Kissed by Meredith Brooks
  • Trying Not to Love You by Nickelback
  • Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth Ft. Emeli Sande
  • I Hate How Much I Love You by Rhianna Ft. NeYo
  • Be Still by The Fray
  • All Along by Remedy Drive
  • Clarity by Zedd
  • Mirrors by Justin Timberlake
  • To Build A Home by Cinematic Orchestra

Author Interview with B.T. Clifford

Next on Page to Page Promo’s Interview Series is B.T. Clifford! Here’s B.T.’S interview:

btclifford

A Little on the Personal Side:

If you weren’t an author, what would you be?
I’m assuming this is something other than what I do to pay the bills while I write. I manage a community college science lab and if I were to select a career other than writing, it would be teaching. The college is an excellent environment to work in and being a professor looks like it would be a rewarding job.

What types of books do you read?
I read a lot of nonfiction history; military, exploration, survival, they all intrigue me. My taste in fiction leans heavily toward classic literature, though I have a few favorite contemporary authors. We lost two of them very recently, Michael Crichton and Tom Clancy. Other significant favorites are William Golding and Alistair Maclean. I think it was Alistair who really made me appreciate good pacing in a novel.

When you are not writing where can you be found? If I’m not in my lab, I’m on a ball field. My youngest son plays baseball. He’s on a travel team and plays Little League so there are games or practices almost every night of the week. I love ball, but not as much as he does, and that’s as it should be I think. Here in the southwest, the baseball season starts in September and runs through May, sometimes even into June, and during those months my house revolves around baseball.

A Sbooktacular Month!

sbooktacular

Welcome to Serissa’s Sbooktacular Month Event!

October is one of my all time favorite months, and I love to celebrate Halloween as long as possible. This month on the blog we will host author interviews. I have paired with another blog, AlicenScott.com, to bring these interviews to you through Page to Page Promos. You may join the Facebook group here to self promote your books and book related sites. To submit for the author interview, email: pagetopagepromo@gmail.com

I will be introducing character profiles for Serissa throughout the month. I have been keeping track and profiling them when possible throughout writing the series, and will be pulling these from what I call the guide. It has numerous notes about the origin of the characters to the origin of the story. I may also pull up some other fun bits and pieces from quotes to trivia for those who have read the first book already.

I am holding a contest for Amazon gift cards. I will be opening this up soon on Facebook, so be sure to go to the fan page and like for a chance to win! Contest will run throughout October! Goal is to get around a hundred or more additional likes this month! Please share this one with your friends.

There may even be a surprise event here or there, and the grand finale …  FREE download days on Oct 25th, 26th, & 27th!!

So stay tuned, follow the blog, like the Facebook, and join us on Twitter to keep up to date on future events all month long!

Feel free to post this and share, and as always if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can borrow Serissa for free now!

Just a Little E-book Marketing.

Competing with thousands of e-books in the same genre is difficult, but I did. I came in #9 on the Top 100 Free downloaded books on Amazon a couple weeks ago. I advertised all over Facebook, Twitter, and a few websites. I intend to stretch that to other free promotion sites my next round, and then again to some paid ones the round after that. Trying different ideas as I go. So far I’m content with my free run. I had nearly 600 downloads in ONE day over five separate countries. I’m not entirely sure how successful that is, however, I have read many authors on their first free runs have that many downloaded over their five days stretch rather than in one day. If that’s the case I did something well. If not, I can only get better.

Two 5* Reviews.

Received another 5*review today! Thank you so much to my lovely readers for the support. See the reviews live here. If you haven’t left a review yet, but are interested in doing so you may do that on Amazon or Goodreads– or even both. You can friend me on Goodreads as well or even want to read the book. Anything helps and of course is appreciated.

Review one— “I read this book being a fan of Twilight and other similar stories. I love supporting new authors so I thought I’d give it a shot. It’s well written and the story is different than things I’ve read before. Reading the description I expected something along the lines of a fan fic type book, but it wasn’t that way at all. If you’re like me in that you get totally involved in a book this book is for you. You will feel Serissa’s emotions the same way she does. Her triumphs and her heartbreaks will make you keep rooting for her and the twists and turns the book takes will keep you guessing up until the end. Several of the twists I never saw coming and I was just as shocked as Serissa was. I don’t want to be too detailed and ruin it for anyone but this is not just a fictional love story, it’s so much more than that. It makes you wonder what you would do if you were in her situation. It’s not every day your bully becomes your Guardian Angel and your boyfriend becomes your enemy. (Literally!) Her entire world as she knows it come crumbling down again and again and she keeps going. Definitely can’t wait til the next book is released!!”

Review two— “Being an avid reader of all types of fiction I found this book to be a well balanced combination of mystery, fantasy, romance and just good solid story line. The author was able to capture the various characters so vividly on paper that my minds eye easily brought each one to life, acting out each page as if I were watching actors on a stage pouring out their emotions to relay the intensity of their need to express themselves and be heard. Every author has a distinct style to their writing which is one of the things that will determine if I will bother to seek out more of their work and I am going to be first in line for this authors next release. If you like to feel the emotions of each character and are left with much food for thought after reaching the last page then this is your next “Must Read”!”

Thanks again everyone!
