  • What do you love most about writing? What do you not like?  I love being able to let my imagination run wild. • When you are not writing where can you be found?  Playing with my two year old grandson,  playing with our three dogs or reading.
  • Do you have a favorite place to write?  The kitchen table. I like being in the middle of all the action.   I do my best writing with background noise, even if it’s my favorite CD.
  • Books and writing aside, what’s one of your favorite things about your life or yourself?   Love and Compassion for all animals.

A Little on the Personal Side:

  • If you weren’t an author, what would you be? I’ve always wanted to write, but I enjoy working with youth, too.  Being a leader for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts were some of the best times I’ve had.  After my kids outgrew those programs, I went back to college and earned certification for teaching art.  I did that for two years, and then the school closed.  Now, I’ve combined those two loves, and I write a newspaper column about children’s arts and crafts that has art lesson plans, crafts for youth groups such as scouts, and other programs like summer camp and after school care.  I’ve even published the plans I wrote for Cub Scout Summer Day Camp, in a book called “Day Camp in Hawaii”.  I know how much time it takes for leaders and teachers to find good plans, so while I can’t do it myself anymore, I hope my books and articles will make their jobs a little easier.
  • What types of books do you read? I like sweet, mild or clean books.  I usually read romance, mystery and suspense.  I also read self-help books and psychology.  My romance novels have psychology in them, as I hope it will make the characters more real and the solutions more plausible.
  • What do you love most about writing? What do you not like? Writing a book is a lot like getting married.  It starts out being the best idea you’ve ever had, and you just know you can do it.  You’re excited, in love with the idea, and can’t see any faults with your choice.  Then, you get it outlined, and the basic plot going, but things happen to the characters that you didn’t plan on.  You row with the flow, hope, pray, and do your best with it.  But when the book is half done, you come up with a problem that you can’t solve.   At this point, you have a choice, just like with marriage.  You can quit, you can separate for a while and come back to it later, or you can talk it out and come to a compromise.  I have several half-finished manuscripts that I divorced.  All authors do.  They’re like old boyfriends that just didn’t work out.  But the ones you finish are quite satisfying.  It’s worth the effort to work it out.
  • Do you have a favorite place to write? Alone and at home.  When I’m on vacation, I’m on vacation.  I’ve tried taking a lap top with me, but authors need a vacation, too.  I need to focus on what I’m doing.

Jordyn3

A Little on the Personal Side:

What is your all-time favorite book? The Great Gatsby

What types of books do you read? Mysteries, stories set in the early Egyptian era and the Camelot/Merlin tales.

What do you love most about writing? What do you not like? What I love is seeing a story form and take on a life of its own.  I dislike editing. After allowing well-meaning people to do an edit, I found everyone has a different opinion of “proper grammar”. I just hire a woman. She understands what I want.

Do you have a favorite place to write? In my family room, in front of a blazing fireplace, my dog at my side. I have a very nice writing room, but I don’t write there.

Just a Little E-book Marketing.

Competing with thousands of e-books in the same genre is difficult, but I did. I came in #9 on the Top 100 Free downloaded books on Amazon a couple weeks ago. I advertised all over Facebook, Twitter, and a few websites. I intend to stretch that to other free promotion sites my next round, and then again to some paid ones the round after that. Trying different ideas as I go. So far I’m content with my free run. I had nearly 600 downloads in ONE day over five separate countries. I’m not entirely sure how successful that is, however, I have read many authors on their first free runs have that many downloaded over their five days stretch rather than in one day. If that’s the case I did something well. If not, I can only get better.

Serissa – One Day FREE!

I am running two promotions right now. One I did for Twitter last night, if I could hit 300 followers, I’d release Serissa for FREE for one day. We hit it by a landslide. 368! Good job guys, I appreciate all the help. Serissa will be free on 8/14! For one day only!

The second promotion is for Likes on Facebook as well as Twitter, I’m going for 500 Likes/Followers each! All the help I can get in spreading the word. I will make Serissa free again for anyone who missed it the first time, and for any additional followers!

That being said, if you can leave an honest review if you enjoy it. Reviews can be left at Amazon.com or Goodreads. Of course not necessary, but appreciated.

Thanks for all the help, RT’s, shares, and likes!

Two 5* Reviews.

Received another 5*review today! Thank you so much to my lovely readers for the support. See the reviews live here. If you haven’t left a review yet, but are interested in doing so you may do that on Amazon or Goodreads– or even both. You can friend me on Goodreads as well or even want to read the book. Anything helps and of course is appreciated.

Review one— “I read this book being a fan of Twilight and other similar stories. I love supporting new authors so I thought I’d give it a shot. It’s well written and the story is different than things I’ve read before. Reading the description I expected something along the lines of a fan fic type book, but it wasn’t that way at all. If you’re like me in that you get totally involved in a book this book is for you. You will feel Serissa’s emotions the same way she does. Her triumphs and her heartbreaks will make you keep rooting for her and the twists and turns the book takes will keep you guessing up until the end. Several of the twists I never saw coming and I was just as shocked as Serissa was. I don’t want to be too detailed and ruin it for anyone but this is not just a fictional love story, it’s so much more than that. It makes you wonder what you would do if you were in her situation. It’s not every day your bully becomes your Guardian Angel and your boyfriend becomes your enemy. (Literally!) Her entire world as she knows it come crumbling down again and again and she keeps going. Definitely can’t wait til the next book is released!!”

Review two— “Being an avid reader of all types of fiction I found this book to be a well balanced combination of mystery, fantasy, romance and just good solid story line. The author was able to capture the various characters so vividly on paper that my minds eye easily brought each one to life, acting out each page as if I were watching actors on a stage pouring out their emotions to relay the intensity of their need to express themselves and be heard. Every author has a distinct style to their writing which is one of the things that will determine if I will bother to seek out more of their work and I am going to be first in line for this authors next release. If you like to feel the emotions of each character and are left with much food for thought after reaching the last page then this is your next “Must Read”!”

Thanks again everyone!
