Happy New Year Already?!?

Well, as you can imagine time has managed to evade me the last few months. I work retail and no matter how hard I try each year to devote time and space to my internet hobbies, my brain goes into a dormant/sleep mode because there just isn’t enough time in a day to do what I set out to do. However, I also work seasonally and with the holiday season on it’s way out, and the new year set in motion, I have found a few minutes for some of my own projects. Soon, I will be getting together with my partner in all things books to see when we can get our interviews on the ball again. We’re still playing catch up with some of those, for that I apologize, however it is a free service and we are only human. I’m sure everyone understands, but thank your for your patience anyway.

As for other fun news, I have two new trailers and book covers. I’d feel blessed if anyone who supports YA books would be willing to spread some love for me with them on FB or whatnot.

Here is the new cover for book one: SERISSA, (scroll for more)

Here’s the cover for the second book, I’m aiming for releasing before Valentine’s day if not sooner, SERISSA’S SONG,

I also have two new trailers out as well.  I’m only going to post the first one for now, for SERISSA, as the second isn’t quite ready yet, maybe later today.

That’s all I have for the moment, but I’ll be checking in again real soon with more updates. Happy New Year, may it be good for everyone!

Friends, Fans, & Followers

Sbooktacular Month went very well. The only downside was there weren’t too many new likes on the fanpage, so I’m pushing back the contest for another month as I’ve recently had a small spike. I don’t think many people who “liked” were actually doing so for the contest, so I’m going to reconsider my advertising for it and continue it out until the end of November. Thanks for understanding.

Also, I have a public profile on Facebook now, I invite all my friends, fans, and followers to come friend me! You can do so here: http://on.fb.me/HuOnMn I’d like to keep my private and public profiles separate. If you have sent a friend request to any profile thinking it was me other than the one attached to the link, you will need to resend to this one to be accepted. I don’t add anyone who isn’t close friends or family to my private profile for reasons I’m sure everyone can understand.

I have officially given away over 1,000 books for free! I am still waiting on a handful of reviews, hoping some will come from my last giveaway, but would love if anyone would be willing to review/rate SERISSA on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Feel free to add me as a friend on Goodreads! I’m hoping to get things rolling on book two very soon, which is one reason any help with ratings and reviews would be great over the next few weeks. I’m about halfway through editing book two, and will soon send out to my editor. After that it isn’t much to revise and post to Amazon! I’m hoping mid-late November since I’m a little behind now that I had to work quite a bit at my day job recently.YAY! I’m very excited about book two after reading some of my more recent reviews, I feel like people will mostly be happy about the interaction between the characters. You wanted more of the boys, you’ll get that. You wanted Sara to really grow up, that happens.

I also pulled out of the digital attic, if you will, the first unofficial official trailer for  Serissa. It isn’t fancy by any means, but you can view it on YouTube.com

A Sbooktacular Month!

Welcome to Serissa’s Sbooktacular Month Event!

October is one of my all time favorite months, and I love to celebrate Halloween as long as possible. This month on the blog we will host author interviews. I have paired with another blog, AlicenScott.com, to bring these interviews to you through Page to Page Promos. You may join the Facebook group here to self promote your books and book related sites. To submit for the author interview, email: pagetopagepromo@gmail.com

I will be introducing character profiles for Serissa throughout the month. I have been keeping track and profiling them when possible throughout writing the series, and will be pulling these from what I call the guide. It has numerous notes about the origin of the characters to the origin of the story. I may also pull up some other fun bits and pieces from quotes to trivia for those who have read the first book already.

I am holding a contest for Amazon gift cards. I will be opening this up soon on Facebook, so be sure to go to the fan page and like for a chance to win! Contest will run throughout October! Goal is to get around a hundred or more additional likes this month! Please share this one with your friends.

There may even be a surprise event here or there, and the grand finale …  FREE download days on Oct 25th, 26th, & 27th!!

So stay tuned, follow the blog, like the Facebook, and join us on Twitter to keep up to date on future events all month long!

Feel free to post this and share, and as always if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can borrow Serissa for free now!

Just a Little E-book Marketing.

Competing with thousands of e-books in the same genre is difficult, but I did. I came in #9 on the Top 100 Free downloaded books on Amazon a couple weeks ago. I advertised all over Facebook, Twitter, and a few websites. I intend to stretch that to other free promotion sites my next round, and then again to some paid ones the round after that. Trying different ideas as I go. So far I’m content with my free run. I had nearly 600 downloads in ONE day over five separate countries. I’m not entirely sure how successful that is, however, I have read many authors on their first free runs have that many downloaded over their five days stretch rather than in one day. If that’s the case I did something well. If not, I can only get better.

Serissa – One Day FREE!

I am running two promotions right now. One I did for Twitter last night, if I could hit 300 followers, I’d release Serissa for FREE for one day. We hit it by a landslide. 368! Good job guys, I appreciate all the help. Serissa will be free on 8/14! For one day only!

The second promotion is for Likes on Facebook as well as Twitter, I’m going for 500 Likes/Followers each! All the help I can get in spreading the word. I will make Serissa free again for anyone who missed it the first time, and for any additional followers!

That being said, if you can leave an honest review if you enjoy it. Reviews can be left at Amazon.com or Goodreads. Of course not necessary, but appreciated.

Thanks for all the help, RT’s, shares, and likes!

Review From a New Review & Editing Site

Here is the review I received from a new site, A Tiger’s Tale Edits & Reviews. They are currently accepting submissions for book reviews, and even  editing services. Thanks T!

This is a book about a coming of age girl named Serissa, Sara for short, who has always been on the outside. Until suddenly her entire life is turned upside down.

After Sara and her mom move from a small town to a big city she thinks her life may actually change for once. Four years later it has. She has two best friends and and a boyfriend, the first boy she hasn’t felt awkward around.

Sara’s friends convince her to sing in the senior showcase and with her new boyfriend by her side she reluctantly agrees. Singing in front of people has always terrified her although she’s enjoyed singing quietly in the back of the choir for as long as she can remember.

When Sara’s friends decide to follow a band around the country her world suddenly changes. She finds herself questioning everything she’s ever known, her friends, her boyfriend, and her childhood bully. Who can she trust? Who really has her best interest in mind?

Over the summer, Serissa finds out what her life’s purpose is from the last person she ever expects and has to decide who she’s going to let help her achieve it.

It is well written, the storyline is fresh, and the characters are likeable. Even the bad guys make you believe they’re good.

This book is perfect for teenage girls who don’t feel like they fit in and can’t find their place in the world. It really makes you feel like you are living in her world and you will wonder what will happen next from each page.

That’s just the description to see the whole thing please visit the site and check out their services. Great turn around time! Their Facebook Page.

Another Angel Series… Yep, busted!

I began this series nearly four years ago. While I admit my writing style is still evolving, Serissa begged to be out there, and her readers requested her to be as well. I am currently trying to network and meet new people in order to  support the book, and also to be involved in the now. I recognize there are many angel stories, but this one needed to be told… or so I’ve been told.

I’m not going to back down from the over saturated market for like themes. Yet, I feel I should explain how Serissa is different, because she certainly is. The angels in Serissa began as aliens. They describe themselves as beings merely from another existence, their world parallel to ours, and while they are greater beings, they’re quite like us, almost  an ancient species of humans. They have their genre based similarities, but there are no demons to fight them in this story. It is not that kind of action. This is a love story, a life story if you will, at least at first before everything goes terribly wrong.

The angels focus is more than just saving the world, it’s changing it. In their world they appreciate life as a gift and love one another endlessly, even those who are not on the side of good are accepted for creating balance. They are so evolved in their emotions, they recognize the need for companionship to survive. They only fall in love once and stay in love forever. If something were to happen to their love, they are capable of moving on without grief. They’re able to do many things. I don’t want to give away all their capabilities, some I’m sure people can easily guess, but that would spoil the story.

They are not a perfect race however, just more evolved. Everyone can make mistakes in this story, no one is better than the other. They all have their role, and in that they are special. They realize their goal is everyone’s goal. Their failure is everyone’s failure. Life is not meant to be lived alone, in love or not in love, you will always need someone to back you, someone to help you, someone to guide you, someone to believe in you.

All I ask is have faith in something more than you are familiar with, but something believable and nearly tangible.  I do believe in angels… I do… I do.
